STUDENT'S BRAVE SHAVE
MADDI Dundas’ decision to shave off her hair for a cancer cure was described as real gutsy.
The Biggenden State School Year 9 student had her blond locks lopped off on Monday in front of her fellow students on parade.
Maddie said she had never had short hair.
“My aim was to raise $350, but to date I have around $2250 promised,” she said.
“I would like to be able to donate my hair so a wig could be made for a child.”
Maddi shed a few tears as Kayla Blanchard cut off her ponytail, but it soon turned to giggles as the blade cut around her ears as it tickled.
Her parents, Gary Dundas and Belinda Hawes, could not be more proud of their daughter.
Maddi said her head felt so much lighter.
“Mum will now be able to save on the shampoo and conditioner,” she said.
All cash donations are to be banked by April 9, but donations can still be made at myleukeamiafoundation .org.au/maddisondundas.
