Pink Sports Day

Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT -

SPORTING groups are invited to “pink up” for Breast Cancer Network Australia’s annual Pink Sports Day over the Mother’s Day weekend of May 9–10.

Pink Sports Day is an opportunity for sporting groups and their communities to come together and show support for people in their local area who have been affected by breast cancer.

Last year more than 900 clubs across Australia raised $450,000 to support Australians affected by breast cancer. This year the goal is $600,000.

Natalie Medhurst, world champion and Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning Australian netballer and Pink Sports Day Ambassador, has encouraged involvement.

“It’s important we make sure women affected by breast cancer and their families know that there are people there to support them,” she said.

It’s free to participate, and BCNA will provide a free event pack with everything needed to run and promote the event.
