BIGGEN­DEN Lo­cal Am­bu­lance Com­mit­tee has been given a new life.

Newly ap­pointed of­fi­cer in charge of the Biggen­den QAS sta­tion, Dee Creevy is keen to lift the pro­file of the QAS within the com­mu­nity.

At a well-at­tended spe­cial meet­ing, Moira Thomp­son was elected the new pres­i­dent af­ter John Hoyes stood down.

Mr Hoyes said he was still keen to be in­volved in the or­gan­i­sa­tion but just as a mem­ber.

On the night, he was pre­sented with his 15-year badge.

The ex­ec­u­tive now in­cludes vice pres­i­dent Ge­off Dun­can, sec­re­tary Kae Dunn and trea­surer John O’Brien.

The LAC had dwin­dled to three mem­bers but af­ter last week’s meet­ing now has at least a dozen mem­bers.

The next meet­ing for any­one in­ter­ested will be on Tues­day, May 5, at 6.30pm at the Biggen­den Multi Pur­pose Health Ser­vice con­fer­ence room.
