BIGGENDEN Local Ambulance Committee has been given a new life.
Newly appointed officer in charge of the Biggenden QAS station, Dee Creevy is keen to lift the profile of the QAS within the community.
At a well-attended special meeting, Moira Thompson was elected the new president after John Hoyes stood down.
Mr Hoyes said he was still keen to be involved in the organisation but just as a member.
On the night, he was presented with his 15-year badge.
The executive now includes vice president Geoff Duncan, secretary Kae Dunn and treasurer John O’Brien.
The LAC had dwindled to three members but after last week’s meeting now has at least a dozen members.
The next meeting for anyone interested will be on Tuesday, May 5, at 6.30pm at the Biggenden Multi Purpose Health Service conference room.
