THE Biggenden QCWA branch has combined its recent competition day with a fun morning out.

President Julia Young said everyone had a wonderful morning.

“It was pleasing to see the number of entries in the cookery, preserves, floral art, dressmaking and knitting and crochet,” she said.

“Winners in some of the classes can now go on to the divisional judging to be held at Maryborough.”

Margaret Stradmann won the decorated-hat competition.

And in floral art, her centrepiece of a bird of paradise depicting the lyrics, May the bird of paradise fly up your nose and an elephant caress you with his toes, drew comments.
