Furry loyal friends
A MEETING at a dog obedience class brought Kerry Maguire to heel.
“I had a westie, but when I met Ruth (Waxman) – we met through our local obedience class – she was showing great danes and I was going to the shows with her to keep her company,” Ms Maguire said.
“So I decided I might as well get a show westie and start showing my own dogs.
“I’ve had westies for 11 years (and) I only breed when we want them for the show arena.”
Ms Waxman has been showing westies with her friend for three years.
“Westies have character and spunk; they’re not a normal little fluffy dog,” she said.
“You have to keep grooming them and they’ve got to have ring presence.
