AH­ERN Part­ners won the Gayn­dah Show’s car­case com­pe­ti­tion for their grain-fed Ja­panese ox.

Prime cat­tle stew­ard Vicki Palmer said the points sys­tem for judg­ing car­cases took into ac­count eye mus­cle area in re­la­tion to weight and teeth.

“(The win­ning car­case will be) the right type of an­i­mal that dresses re­ally well and has the right char­ac­ter­is­tics,” she said.
