FOR 17-year-old Lashica Pope, step­ping up to be 2015 Eidsvold Ju­nior Miss Show­girl is some­thing she has dreamed of.

Com­ing from a fam­ily of seven girls and one boy, Lashica was born in Eidsvold and at­tended Eidsvold School, grad­u­at­ing last year.

Lashica said she loved go­ing to the show each year and it was a high­light of the so­cial cal­en­dar.

“I would like to be Miss Show­girl so I can show­case all the great

things about my home town,” Lashica said. “I want to show ev­ery­one what our com­mu­nity is like and what the peo­ple are like.”

Among her peers, she has been a good role model and an team player on mul­ti­ple sport­ing fields.

“I think I will learn a lot by en­ter­ing the Miss Show­girl. Win or not, it will be a good ex­pe­ri­ence,” she said.

Lashica is about to em­bark on an Army ca­reer that could take her around the world.
