A world of stories in each town

Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT - Shirley Way

THE North Burnett is a world of stories filled with warm, caring people. On my very first evening in Gayndah, the town’s former journalist and now our deputy editor Brandon Livesay put camera and notebook in my hand and introduced me to the indoor bowlers. From there the stories kept rolling in. The generous spirit of our communities in Gayndah, Mt Perry and Binjour has left an indelible mark as moments of tears and laughter are shared. And while these rural towns may be classed as remote, sooner or later its residents go forth to conquer the world and the world comes to visit. These experiences have made our lives and towns a richer place – and a spring of stories which I’ve been privileged to share over the past 15 months. Goodbye for now, and I look forward to my future visits.
