ROY Jarvis (27) of Mundubbera, died in Mundubbera Hospital at 10pm on Sunday, September 1947 as a result of a fall during a rugby league game that same day. An eyewitness said that Jarvis was playing full back in a fairly rough game between Mundubbera and Eidsvold when about half way through the second half, he fell with another player after a tackle. The other player seemed to be knocked half unconscious, but he recovered quickly. Jarvis however remained inert. He was conveyed to hospital where he died of concussion without regaining consciousness. Jarvis who saw Army service during the war was well-known in Mundubbera, having lived there most of his life.
