Special day for students
ANZAC Day was rather special for Brooweena State School students as they wore badges that represented 10 of the local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War.
As Woocoo Historical Society’s Gail Gauld read the name and details of each soldier, the student representing that soldier came forward and laid a poppy on the memorial in remembrance of him.
Ms Gauld said this was an RSL Community Link school project and the badges could be worn again in future Anzac Day ceremonies.
LEST WE FORGET: Brooweena State School children played their part at the Anzac Day service.
