Mt Perry artist awarded
MT PERRY’S Rae Watson, whose floral watercolours won grand champion art, is a late bloomer.
“I just love doing it – I’ve been painting for the last few years,” Ms Watson said.
“You wait til you’re 70 to take up these things.”
A member of the Mt Perry Fine Art Group, Ms Watson said she’d attended workshops to develop her skills and had fallen in love with watercolours.
“They reckon it’s the hardest medium – it’s the flow of it,” she said.
“I’ve started to do larger (paintings) and miniatures.”
Ms Watson’s works have featured in the annual Mt Perry Art Exhibition.
