Baker rises to top with narrow victory in Veterans Stroke event
DI BAKER edged out Des Randall to claim the Veterans 18-hole Stroke event played late last month.
Baker finished with 68 nett to beat out Randall (69 nett) in the April 28 competition. The event attracted 11 players.
There was some solace for Randall who took out the pin shot on 3/12 while Lindsay Baker took the honours on 5/14.
Groundsman Jim Myers, who has not been playing long, was also on target, holing out from the trees on the first hole for a five-point birdie.
James Duncan finished with 36 points to win the single stableford 18-hole competition played on Saturday. Lindsay Baker and Rob Kirk shared second place with 35 points while Trevor Slack won the pin shot on 3/12.
