Course knowledge was vital
Biggenden players on top
INSIDE knowledge was a plus at Monday’s veteran’s golf carnival at Biggenden with Peter Lentini and Ian Rouxell winning both divisions.
Forty-nine players from the Central Burnett, Burrum, Isis, Bargara, Coral Cove, Maryborough and Bundaberg hit off under sunny skies.
Last Thursday and Friday’s downpour livened the whole course up.
Comments heard around the course included “it’s a good day for a walk”, “should have stayed in bed” and “at least we are alive and able to enjoy a game of golf”.
Biggenden Veteran’s Club president Dave Maxwell said days like this were very beneficial for small country clubs.
“We appreciate the support other clubs gave us on the day,” he said.
