Studs bring home ribbons
TWO Biggenden studs have arrived back from Beef Week with ribbons in their pockets.
Kinbacher family Garthowen Brahman Stud took four head to Rockhampton.
Ross Kinbacher said he was very happy to come away with a prize.
“It was a lot better than we did three years ago,” he said
“Our placings included third with our little heifer, fifth for the led steer, eighth for our bull out of 22 and also eighth for our other heifer out of 20.”
Hayden Beresford, with his Bony Villa Limousin Stud, took six head and bought home a similar number of ribbons.
He was excited to take out first place with Bony Villa Harry.
This bull took out the supreme exhibit at the Maryborough and Mt Perry shows last year.
His biggest thrill was the third placing out of 18 head for his led steer, Bony Villa Buddy, in the lightweight class.
The Biggenden State School student said Beef Week was an experience.
“I’m glad I went as learned heaps,” he said. “When I went three years ago I told my dad I wanted to take my cattle to the next one. It has been three years of planning and preparing my cattle.”
