AS ROTARY Lodge marks its fourth birthday, a mother and her premature baby have been the longest guests, staying for 64 days.

The Lodge, at the Bundaberg Hospital, is a home-away-from-home for patients seeking medical treatment and carers.

The five-bedroom home offers low-cost accommodation for carers, family members and patients requiring medical treatment at the Bundaberg Hospital, the Mater and Friendly Society Private hospitals.

A foundation manages the Lodge with support from theWide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

Foundation manager Maria Burnet said the Lodge received incredible support.

“This generosity has changed and improved the circumstances of so many people who are ill or injured, giving birth, undergoing life-saving treatment and those supporting their loved ones in hospital,” she said.

Patients who are not eligible for the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme pay just $40 a person or $60 a double.
