MT PERRY Arts Group will be presenting Who’s Nocturnal, a torn paper painting and paper mache sculpture exhibition of nocturnal creatures featuring the work of Australian artist Sue Daw.

Sue’s first exhibition was at the age of 14, at which paintings were selected for an international exhibition.

Over the years Sue has held many group and solo exhibitions throughout the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Today, Sue’s artwork sells all over the world.

The self-taught artist said she had always dabbled in torn paper paintings.

“Making my own paper and by building up layers of paint has allowed me to create the most wonderful effects in depth,” she said.

“Working with all mediums, my inspiration comes from the nature and wildlife of our beautiful country, Australia.”

Travelling all over the Northern Territory in the 1960s and 1970s, Sue lived in some very remote places.

She was an active member of Northern Territory Arts until 2001.
