A HAND-appliqued foot stool, featuring tractors and cars, caught the eye of many Biggenden Show-goers.

For creator Julia Young, the idea for a stool came when grandson Dustdan asked her to play Lego with him.

“There were no chairs in his room so I had to sit on the floor,” she said.

“With this in mind I thought I’d make him his own personalised foot stool.

“What to put on it was easy as he loves tractors.”

The champion craft exhibitor said for the tractor she had to Google to find a design.

“Then I modified it,” she said.

“This then took me a week to invent the picture.

“The old fashioned car along with a car and camper was easy to access.”

Mrs Young said she had fun.

“It was a challenge,” she said. “But I didn’t think I’d ever get it finished in time for the show.”

But what was inside the footstool surprised those who asked – four catering sized coffee tins.

Mrs Young has made foot stools in the past but used seven smaller coffee tins.

Everyone knows what will be in Dustdan’s for his third birthday in July.

JUST FOR DUSTDAN: Julia Young made this footstool for her grandson Dustdan after she had to sit on the floor to play Lego with him.
