Looking for the right people for news roles

Central and North Burnett Times - - VOICE OF THE BURNETT - Shannon Newley Editor

YOU may have noticed some different faces around town or some different voices on the end of the phone recently.

With the departure of our Monto and Gayndah reporters Emily Smith and ShirleyWay, journalists from the South Burnett Times have had all sorts of wonderful adventures covering the North Burnett.

Unfortunately they haven’t been able to be at everything, and we know there are some great community events that have been missed because of this.

This is certainly not something we don’t care about, and every township in the North Burnett region is important to us.

We are well on the way to getting some great new reporters in both offices, but we are not content just to fill those spots.

We are looking for journalists who are going to embrace the roles and the communities.

In the meantime, thank you so much to those who have sent in photos and stories, and if you have an event and can do the same, we would love to receive anything you can send.

If you are struggling to get in touch with a journalist during this period, please phone me on 4612 9727.

If you have content you would like to see in the paper, email it to shannon.newley @southburnetttimes .com.au and we will do our best to make sure it gets into the paper.

We will let you know as soon as we have some new journalists on board, and I know you will be sure to introduce yourself and make them feel welcome.
