Choppers vie for position on international stage
CHASING THE PRIZE: The overall winner at the final will represent Australia, in the individual competition, at the 2015 Stihl Timbersports World Championships in Poland. TWO North Burnett men aim to cut through the competition for the chance to represent Australia in an international woodchopping event.
Danny Staib and Brodie Dingle are regulars in woodchop events in regional shows and will take on fellow axemen from across the state.
The first ever Australian Stihl Timbersports Series will have its own state heat at CRT FarmFest in Toowoomba from June 2-4.
All competitors will have their eye on the prize – a position on the Australian team heading to the Stihl TimbersportsWorld Championships in Poland in November. Fans in Europe and the US have witnessed the

Now Aussies have their own series to compete against the best of our home-grown talent.
The Queensland heat will have
Brodie Dingle. 10 competitors from across the state battle it out over six disciplines (three axe and three saw) for a spot in the final.
First and second place winners will automatically go into the final in Bathurst, NSW in October, while competitors finishing third and fourth will battle through a qualifying round for a spot in the final.
Digital and brand activation manager for Stihl, Lee Goochsaid, said it was exciting to bring this world-renowned event to Australia.
“It’s been a long time coming but now Australian Stihl Timbersports enthusiasts can enjoy a thrilling annual event,” he said.
“By having our own series, we open up the playing field to welcome new talent to the sport.”
