Opportunity to keep fit
Weekly program is designed to cater to a busy schedule
THE Ready Set Go Fitness Training Program from Cane2Coral is returning to the North Burnett for a second year.
The program is designed to help people get ready for the upcoming Cane2Coral fun run and Cane2Coral president Jason Pascoe said it was designed to encourage people to be healthier.
“The Ready Set Go! 10-week fitness training program, now in its second year, was designed to encourage healthier lifestyles,” Mr Pascoe said.
“By providing the community the opportunity to train with fellow competitors to get ready for the Friendlies Cane2Coral fun run under the guidance and encouragement of professional trainers.”
Ready Set Go began in Gayndah on June 1 and will run until August 3 with weekly training sessions, fitness advice.
Sessions will be held at the Gayndah YMCA at 6am on Wednesday mornings and branch president Dael Giddins encourages people to have a go.
“Even if you don’t think you want to do the Cane2Coral Fun Run we still encourage you to come down and get involved,” Mrs Giddins said.
Dael Giddins It’s not necessarily just about fitness for the body but also about fitness for the mind and knowing you can set those challenges that you may not have thought you could before
“Coming along to these sessions doesn’t mean you have to do the Cane2Coral.”
Mrs Giddins said the sessions were moved from Saturday mornings to Wednesday mornings.
“We had Saturday morning last year and it didn’t seem to suit a lot of people,” Mrs Giddins said.
“We are hoping that the Wednesday morning will work out better.”
Mrs Giddins also wants to let people know that the 10 week program is designed to help people of all fitness levels.
“It won’t be a boot camp where we are yelling out orders,” Mrs Giddins said.
“We have different levels and it will be whichever one works best for you.”
The program will also be of immense benefit to people who are planning to run the Cane2Coral.
“It will help with their fitness for the actual run on the day,” Mrs Giddins said.
“It’s not necessarily just about fitness for the body but also about fitness for the mind and knowing you can set those challenges that you may not have thought you could before.”
