Monto Roos find form
Home boys work together to let Eidsvold score just the once
THE conditions were slippery, but the Monto Roos weren’t going to let the game slip when they took on the Eidsvold Eagles on June 3.
With concentration hats on, the home team let the opposition score just one try.
At full-time, the final score was 48-6 to the Roos.
Roos coach Mathew Dahtler was proud of his team’s performance and

said it helped boost overall confidence.
“We won the game because of our strong defence, and made the other team do errors,” he said.
“There were a few showers, the conditions were slippery, but it wasn’t too bad.
“It was a lapse of concentration that let the other team score.”
Training has been an influencing factor in the team’s performance, according to the coach.
“More people have started coming to training, and now that we’ve had some wins, players are more motivated,” Dahtler said.
“We are gradually getting better as we go through the season.”
Though Monto and Eidsvold were rivals at the weekend, they will be playing together during the Men of League match this Saturday.
“I really thing the two teams combined will be one strong team,” Dahtler said.
Kick-off will be at 2pm at the Monto Combined Sportsground.
