NEXT time some­one men­tions the Gayn­dah Air­port, it’s okay to won­der what they are talk­ing about. Be­cause ac­tu­ally, the flight-take off area that will open on June 11 in Gayn­dah is of­fi­cially the Gayn­dah Aero­drome.

An aero­drome is any place from where flight op­er­a­tions can take place, from a sin­gle airstrip to a com­mer­cial air­port. An air­port is a spe­cial type of aero­drome that has sat­is­fied cer­tain cer­ti­fi­ca­tion cri­te­ria that a reg­u­lar aero­drome may not have.
