Bridge fi­nally gets fund­ing in bud­get

THE Monto-Mount Perry Rd Bur­nett River Bridge re­place­ment project has re­ceived fund­ing in the 2016-2017 Queens­land State Bud­get.

The project has been al­lo­cated $7.4 mil­lion out of a $11.5 mil­lion to­tal spend to re­place the bridge and the ap­proach­ing road at the river.

The project is due for com­ple­tion in De­cem­ber 2016.

Other ini­tia­tives for the re­gion in the State Bud­get in­cluded $18.6 mil­lion on im­prove­ments for Par­adise Dam near Biggen­den, out of a to­tal spend of $22.8 mil­lion.

The bud­get al­lo­cated $559,600 to as­sist the North Bur­nett Re­gional Coun­cil in con­struct­ing a new wa­ter treat­ment fa­cil­ity in Eidsvold, to re­place the ex­ist­ing plant.

This is out of a $2 mil­lion to­tal spend.

Health ser­vices in Gayndah, Gin Gin and Monto have been given $748,900 for en­hanced al­lied health ser­vices.
