Bridge finally gets funding in budget
THE Monto-Mount Perry Rd Burnett River Bridge replacement project has received funding in the 2016-2017 Queensland State Budget.
The project has been allocated $7.4 million out of a $11.5 million total spend to replace the bridge and the approaching road at the river.
The project is due for completion in December 2016.
Other initiatives for the region in the State Budget included $18.6 million on improvements for Paradise Dam near Biggenden, out of a total spend of $22.8 million.
The budget allocated $559,600 to assist the North Burnett Regional Council in constructing a new water treatment facility in Eidsvold, to replace the existing plant.
This is out of a $2 million total spend.
Health services in Gayndah, Gin Gin and Monto have been given $748,900 for enhanced allied health services.
