Democracy is great

NORTH Burnett residents went to the polls on July 2 and clearly made their voices heard.

In Flynn, the ALP suffered a huge swing towards them and Ken O’Dowd might lose his seat. About 17% of the vote going to One Nation.

No matter what one’s views on the different political parties, from the far right to the far left, what is certain is that we can have our say.

We can have our say without the fear of negative repercussions like being shot or persecuted, just for exercising our democratic right. That is a great thing. Democracy is a great thing.

At the end of the day, no matter if the vote eventuates into a hung Parliament or a majority government, the voters always get it right.
