NORTH Burnett residents took to social media to voice their frustrations with yet another rate rise from the North Burnett Regional Council.

Council raised rates by 4.95% in the 2017-17 budget.

Resident Ben Slack said he could not believe the increase.

“Another 5%. We paid approximately $12k rates last year so we can expect a $600 increase,” Mr Slack wrote.

“Our road hasn’t been graded for about five years.”

Emma Duff said people were still out of pocket from the floods.

“People and businesses are still struggling and recovering from two floods and then the council go and whack an extra 5% onto the rates,” she wrote.

“We simply can’t afford it.”

Sonia Jocumsen-Waldock said she was paying less in rates for her Gold Coast rental property.

“Our rental at Gold Coast is no where near what we have to pay (here).... for nothing,” she said.
