Warm conditions for this weekend

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

THE North Burnett can expect a great weekend of weather ahead, with conditions set to create a warmer than average weekend.

Temperatures are expected to rise to between 24 and 27 degrees by the weekend before peaking at 27 to 30 by Sunday.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Michael Paech said a warm spell was expected over the weekend.

“We’ve got quite a warm air mass around the rest of the week and that’s going to combine with an approaching surface trough through Saturday,” Mr Paech said.

“So you have northerly winds ahead of that and it will help bring some heat down from the northern interior of the country, so those things combined are what will bring the unseasonably warm temperatures for the latter part of the week.”

Mr Paech said to still expect a colder Sunday morning as the trough moves and south westerly winds return to drop the temperature.

“The trough approaching through Saturday and Sunday means you can expect a slight increase in south westerly winds behind that trough to about 5 to 10km,” Mr Paech said.

Humidity is predicted to reach between 90 and 100% in some parts.

But Mr Paech said it was normal for the conditions.

“Typically of an evening you’ll find that the relative humidity will rise as the air temperatures cools,” Mr Paech said.

“But during the day, when most people assess how humid it is, it will be pretty average conditions for the weekend.”
