Everything is coming up roses
ACTIVITIES for the return of the Biggenden Apex Rose Festival from October 14-16 are almost completed.
On the Friday, Biggenden and district school children will converge on the Biggenden State School oval for novelty events like egg and spoon races and sack races.
On the Saturday, activities get underway in Edward and Victoria Sts with a variety of market and food stalls. The rides and slides will be set up in the grassed area at the side of the bowls club.
Everyone is coming on board and entering floats while there are a variety of street entertainers’ including buskers keen to come.
There will be entertainment late into the night as well as fireworks.
A rose and flower show will be held in the QCWA Rooms. There are classes for a potted flowering miniature rose and a rose in pot so start preparing your entries.
It is great to learn the Biggenden Charity Campdraft Committee are planning to hold their annual campdraft on Saturday, October 15.
On the Sunday Moira Thompson is organising a walk up MtWalsh while there are some activities at Paradise Dam including a poet’s corner.
