Plenty of fun at Mt Perry next month
THE Mt Perry Fun Day and Truck Pull are on again on Saturday, August 13 with all the entertainment the North Burnett has come to expect from the day.
Evolution Mines Fun Day liaison officer AnitaWard said the day would once again focus on bringing the community together for a fun day and to raise awareness for prevention of youth suicide.
“The Mt Perry Fun Day is just that, a day of fun for the whole family,” MrsWard said.
“This year we will have market stalls, games, professional roller skating demos, chainsaw races as well as live night time entertainment and of course the Evolution Mining Dump Truck Pull.”
The truck pull is offering large cash prizes and to win you must organise a mixed gender team and be the fastest to pull the 90 tonne mining dump truck.
The winning adult and primary school teams will win $1000 per team with prizes for second and third also.
The truck will be unloaded, with the brake off and must be pulled for 10 metres along the Mt Perry main street.
Primary School children are also encouraged to enter teams who will be pulling the local fire truck over the same distance.
Currently the time to beat is 15 seconds, can your team do better?
“We will also have the Red Frogs workshop and demonstrations at the skate park and the Mt Perry Line Dancers,” MrsWard said.
“But that’s not all; we will also have a Mines Rescue Operation which will be a simulated car crash in the middle of town.”
Mt Perry has a rich heritage of wood chopping in it will once again be a centre piece of the fun day.
“The popular wood chopping and chainsaw race is back,” MrsWard said.
“And we have games like Speed Ball where we will see who can throw a tennis ball the fastest with a speed gun being supplied by the Gin Gin Police Station,” Mrs Ward said.
The CAT Dump Truck Simulator is also returning to the fun day giving people the chance to see what it feels like behind the wheel of a mining truck.
“And anyone still wishing to have a stall at the markets can contact me.”
You can contact Mrs Ward for further details about the markets on 4156 2222.

The dump truck simulator is returning to the Mt Perry Fun Day.
Some teams like to add a little bit of extra fun to the truck pull such as mullet wigs.
