Swim club returns for 2016
SWIMMING: Every senior swimmer in the Mundubbera Swim Club was awarded a junior excellence award by Swimming Australia for their results last year.
The JX awards are presented to swimmers aged nine and older who swam a JX qualifying time at a swim meet.
There are several levels of awards, including gold, silver, bronze and green.
Swimmer Ali Kassulke received a green award.
“Itwas pretty cool to have everyone who competed last year get a JX,” Kassulke said.
“It’s a pretty cool achievement.
“I didn’t think I’d get one as I don’t feel I did my best but it was a good surprise.”
The 13-year-old said it was good to be back at swim club for another year.
“Though I’m not excited for the cold pool though it’s not too bad,” Kassulke said.
“I haven’t been training much but it’s good to get back into the competitive stuff.”
Director Roslin Mason said she was proud of the swimmers’ results.
“We’d hope for a successful season again this year where the children have fun and learn to increase their aquatic skills,” Mason said.
