GOLF: Gayndah Golf Club offers a range of games each week that cater to any player of any skill level, with Thursday bringing in the biggest variety of players.

Tuesday is the veterans’ day but Thursday is open to all ages and skills levels.

Long-time Gayndah Golf Club member Norma Burns has seen a lot of changes in her 30 years with the club but also notices some things that stay the same.

“This course used to have the dirt greens which have their own set of challenges,” Burns said.

“It can be trickier to judge the ball on the dirt so, when the grass greens were introduced, it became so much better.”

Burns relishes the chance to get among the golfing community and has been a regular at the club since moving to Gayndah.

“I’ve played with other clubs before but Gayndah has a great social atmosphere,” burns said.

“And the ladies here have all become good friends over the years too.” If you’d like to play in the Thursday or weekend games, you can phone the Gayndah Golf Club on 4161 1587.
