Hunting ghosts for a cause this Friday
A BUS group will tour Monto tomorrow to track down famous ghosts.
The tour, which starts at 5.30pm, will cost $20 a person, with proceeds going toward the Queensland Country Women’s Association Public Rural Crisis fund.
Monto Eastern Order Service’s worthy matron Michele Goody called it a first for the town.
“Hopefully we’re not going to scare the pants off everybody,” she said.
The tour will take participants around the area’s hotspots of paranormal activity, including the Monto Colonial Inn, Mulgildie Hotel and, of course, the Monto Cemetery.
Mulgildie Hotel is well-known for its ghostly phenomenon, with reports of haunting in the ladies’ bathroom.
The Colonial Inn is said to be haunted by the ghost of it’s previous owner.
Also on the tour is the Bunyip Hole out at Mulgildie, a slime-covered pond that hides a mythical bunyip.
Come along and bring your phones, because an evening of ghost-hunting awaits.
