MURGON agents yarded 800 at the fortnightly sale Tuesday.
The market for all descriptions was cheaper than the previous sale.
The prices paid for processing types reflected the drop in grid prices (some up to 30 cents) that some abattoirs have implemented in the past week to 10 days.
The market for feedlot and restocker animals also eased. Consignments were sent from Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Kilkivan, Kingaroy, Nanango and locally.
Bullocks topped at $1932 and $3.14c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to $2390 and $2.45c/kg. Heavy trade heifers sold to $1522 and $3c/kg.
Cows over 500kg sold to $1877 and $2.4 c/kg averaging $2.39c/kg. Cows in the 400-500kg range sold to $2.33c/kg averaging $2.23c/kg.
Light cows under 400kg averaged $2.21c/kg topping at $2.41c/kg. Charolais steers, from Merlwood, weighing 338kg sold to $1168 at $3.45c/kg.
Charolais-cross steers from D& P Smith, Murgon, sold to $3.84c/kg for a return of $1152.
A draft of 35 santa steers from Barambah Station sold for an average of $1111 at $3.76c/kg for 295kg, topping at $1242. R& F Nichol, Mt Perry, sold three pens of charolais-cross weaner steers for $1088, $1042 and $882 averaging $1026 at $4.05 c/kg. Droughtmaster steers from M Polzin, Moondooner, sold to $1067 and 272kg droughtmaster weaner steers from S and T Holding, Cloyna, sold for $967.
Charolais-cross heifers, from Merlwood, sold for $1375 and $1319 both at $3.10 c/kg. 385kg charbray heifers, from Mondure, sold for $1305 and $3.39c/kg while 268kg charbray heifers from Manumbar sold for $845 and $3.15c/kg.
I Davies and Family Kilkivan sold 303kg murray grey heifers for $1038 and $3.42c/kg.
Two pens of charolais-cross weaner heifers from Mt Perry sold for $817 and $723 at $3.49c/kg and 236kg droughtmaster weaner heifers from Tranton Byee sold for $3.54c/kg returning $838.
Brahman cows and calves from Kilkivan sold to $1300 and aged droughtmaster cows and calves from Gayndah sold for $1140.
Charolais weaners from Mt Perry sell to $1042 in Murgon.
