Buckle up kids
The State’s peak motoring body, RACQ, has expressed concern at the disturbing number of motorists fined for failing to restrain their children while driving on Queensland roads. Figures released to RACQ by the Department of Transport and Main Roads found in the first half of this year alone, more than 1000 drivers were caught not restraining a child under 16. As many as 44 fines were handed out for failing to buckle up a child under six months of age. Lauren Richie from RACQ said there was no excuse for not properly restraining a child in a car.
