Bid to map koalas
NORTH Burnett Regional Council is to start a project to monitor and map the location of koala populations across the region. Acting Manager of Environmental Services Mike Moller told the council at a technical service meeting on November 2 all monitoring and mapping data would be kept confidential. This was due to possible concerns from land owners about what the information could be used for by third parties. Mr Moller said the council hoped contributions from the community could help fund the project. No money has yet been set aside by the council for the project.
