Golf club re­mem­bers Adrian

GOLF: THE sec­ond me­mo­rial event for Adrian Kum­mer­feld was held at Monto Golf Club on Sun­day.

Forty play­ers came out for the event for a vet­er­ans v non-vet­er­ans game, com­pet­ing for tro­phies sup­plied by the Kum­mer­feld fam­ily.

Shane Kum­mer­feld, el­dest son to the late club mem­ber, said his dad would have ap­pre­ci­ated the ges­ture.

“The club was like his sec­ond home,” Kum­mer­feld said.

“Us kids grew up with this club; it was sand greens when we first came here and we watched it grow.”

Kum­mer­feld came up from Bris­bane to at­tend the event; sev­eral other mem­bers of the fam­ily trav­elled specif­i­cally for the day.

En­graved mugs were pre­sented to the win­ners, with Noela Wilkes and Warren Drahm win­ning for the vet­er­ans and non-vet­er­ans.
