IN QUEENS­LAND, there are a num­ber of ways to make con­tact with your lo­cal po­lice. By re­mem­ber­ing and util­is­ing the op­tions be­low you can en­sure your mat­ter is dealt with ef­fec­tively and ef­fi­ciently.

Po­licelink is a di­vi­sion of the Queens­land Po­lice Service which was in­tro­duced in 2010 to as­sist the com­mu­nity to re­port any non-ur­gent mat­ters in a timely and pro­fes­sional man­ner. The Po­licelink call cen­tre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 131 444. Po­licelink client service of­fi­cers are specif­i­cally trained to as­sist you with your non-ur­gent mat­ters or gen­eral en­quiries.

There are a num­ber of ways to make con­tact with Po­licelink, you can call 131 444, you can down­load the Po­licelink app from the App Store, Google Play or Win­dows Store or sim­ply visit their web­site.

If a crime is not hap­pen­ing right now or the in­ci­dent is not life threat­en­ing and doesn’t place you in im­me­di­ate dan­ger – think Po­licelink 131 444.

If you feel more com­fort­able speak­ing face to face with of­fi­cers, you can at­tend your lo­cal po­lice sta­tion. Please keep in mind that many po­lice sta­tions are open or are at­tended at different times due to polic­ing de­mand.

Please do not at­tempt to call any lo­cal po­lice sta­tion phone num­bers you may have from the past as these are not cur­rent and may pre­vent you from ob­tain­ing the help that you need.

For any emer­gency sit­u­a­tion, when a life is threat­ened or for a crime that is hap­pen­ing right now please call triple zero (000).

When you call 000, an op­er­a­tor will ask you which service you re­quire – po­lice, fire or am­bu­lance. Re­spond by ad­vis­ing the op­er­a­tor of which service you re­quire.

Your call will be rapidly con­nected to the emer­gency service re­quested.
