IN QUEENSLAND, there are a number of ways to make contact with your local police. By remembering and utilising the options below you can ensure your matter is dealt with effectively and efficiently.
Policelink is a division of the Queensland Police Service which was introduced in 2010 to assist the community to report any non-urgent matters in a timely and professional manner. The Policelink call centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 131 444. Policelink client service officers are specifically trained to assist you with your non-urgent matters or general enquiries.
There are a number of ways to make contact with Policelink, you can call 131 444, you can download the Policelink app from the App Store, Google Play or Windows Store or simply visit their website.
If a crime is not happening right now or the incident is not life threatening and doesn’t place you in immediate danger – think Policelink 131 444.
If you feel more comfortable speaking face to face with officers, you can attend your local police station. Please keep in mind that many police stations are open or are attended at different times due to policing demand.
Please do not attempt to call any local police station phone numbers you may have from the past as these are not current and may prevent you from obtaining the help that you need.
For any emergency situation, when a life is threatened or for a crime that is happening right now please call triple zero (000).
When you call 000, an operator will ask you which service you require – police, fire or ambulance. Respond by advising the operator of which service you require.
Your call will be rapidly connected to the emergency service requested.
