Brisbane to Eidsvold in string of stolen cars?
A CABOOLTURE man has started off 2017 behind bars after allegedly thieving his way up to Eidsvold.
A police spokesman said the 37-year-old was arrested in the North Burnett town on January 1, after he allegedly drove several stolen cars about 370km.
“Police will allege the man broke into a home at Morayfield and stole a car,” the spokesman said.
“He then ran out of fuel at Tansey,” he said.
“While there, he broke into another home and stole another car,” the officer further alleged.
“He was driving without a licence on both occasions.”
Police also found cannabis on the man when he was arrested.
The man was charged with several offences including possession of cannabis, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of burglary and two counts of driving a vehicle without a licence as a repeat offender.
The man was remanded in custody, where he remains. He was issued with a notice to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on January 23.
