Cania road closure extended for works
NORTH Burnett Regional Council has announced the temporary closure of Kariboe Rd, Cania, has been extended to February.
In a statement, the council said this was due to unforeseen circumstances.
The upgraded road, part of North Burnett Regional Council’s NDRRA program betterment works, is expected to re-open mid-February, weather permitting.
Kariboe Rd is currently closed to through traffic, with access provided for local traffic only.
Road users are advised that an alternative route is available via Cania Rd and the Burnett Hwy during this time.
The works will include the realignment and elevation of road sections.
The road closure will facilitate a more cost-effective, quicker and safer project, and when complete the upgraded road will provide greater flood resilience.
Motorists are requested to travel with extreme care and responsibility, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signage.
The council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks motorists for their patience while this work is in progress.
