Coun­cil ready for Aus­tralia Day

NORTH Bur­nett Re­gional Coun­cil will hold Aus­tralia Day cel­e­bra­tions through­out the re­gion.

Res­i­dents who turn up in one of the six towns will get a free break­fast and the chance to meet Aus­tralia Day award re­cip­i­ents.

Biggen­den’s event will be held at Biggen­den Me­mo­rial hall, with break­fast start­ing at 7am.

Eidsvold’s will be held at Apex Park, or Eidsvold Com­mu­nity Hall in the event of wet weather, start­ing at 7am.

Mount Perry’s event will be held at Mount Perry Com­mu­nity Hall from 8am.

Gayndah cel­e­bra­tions will be held at Gayndah Sports­ground or the Gayndah Com­mu­nity Hall de­pend­ing on weather, be­gin­ning at 7am.

Gayndah will also host a special ad­dress from 2017 Queens­land Aus­tralia Day Am­bas­sador Pro­fes­sor Peter Leg­gat.

Monto will have the free break­fast at Me­mo­rial Park at 7am be­fore mov­ing on to the Com­mu­nity Hall for the of­fi­cial cer­e­mony at 8.30am.

Mun­dub­bera’s events will take place at Bi­cen­ten­nial Park, or the Com­mu­nity Hall in the event of wet weather, be­gin­ning at 7.30am.

The coun­cil in­vites any­one who can make it to bring along their fam­ily, friends and neigh­bours to cel­e­brate Aus­tralia Day and hon­our the 2017 award re­cip­i­ents.

There are plenty of Aus­tralia Day events in the North Bur­nett.
