Council ready for Australia Day
NORTH Burnett Regional Council will hold Australia Day celebrations throughout the region.
Residents who turn up in one of the six towns will get a free breakfast and the chance to meet Australia Day award recipients.
Biggenden’s event will be held at Biggenden Memorial hall, with breakfast starting at 7am.
Eidsvold’s will be held at Apex Park, or Eidsvold Community Hall in the event of wet weather, starting at 7am.
Mount Perry’s event will be held at Mount Perry Community Hall from 8am.
Gayndah celebrations will be held at Gayndah Sportsground or the Gayndah Community Hall depending on weather, beginning at 7am.
Gayndah will also host a special address from 2017 Queensland Australia Day Ambassador Professor Peter Leggat.
Monto will have the free breakfast at Memorial Park at 7am before moving on to the Community Hall for the official ceremony at 8.30am.
Mundubbera’s events will take place at Bicentennial Park, or the Community Hall in the event of wet weather, beginning at 7.30am.
The council invites anyone who can make it to bring along their family, friends and neighbours to celebrate Australia Day and honour the 2017 award recipients.
