Jacko to coach War­riors

RUGBY LEAGUE: Biggen­den War­riors, who are play­ing in the Cen­tral Bur­nett rugby league com­pe­ti­tion this com­ing sea­son, are off to a fly­ing start.

At a meet­ing on Mon­day night, the com­mit­tee ap­pointed for­mer player Steve “Jacko” Jack­son as their coach.

Train­ing gets un­der­way at the sports re­serve next Tues­day night at 6.30pm.

Any­one in­ter­ested in play­ing can phone Beth on 0459 478 011 or turn up for train­ing.

There is a work­ing bee at the grounds this Satur­day start­ing with a bar­be­cue break­fast at 7am. Jobs in­clude clean­ing out the club’s shed along with can­teen and locker rooms.

The sign-on is planned for Satur­day Jan­uary 28 at noon at the Com­mer­cial Hotel. A bar­be­cue lunch will be pro­vided.

There will be some trial matches against Wal­la­roos and Gayndah Gla­di­a­tors dur­ing Fe­bru­ary/March at the Biggen­den grounds.
