HOY AND TOMBOLA THE Anglican Ladies’ Guild at Biggenden will stage its popular hoy and tombola event on Australia Day. After attending the town’s Australia Day ceremony at the Memorial Hall head along to the QCWA Rooms from 10.30am. MONTO Service Centre Bowls Day from 10am til late on Australia Day at the Monto Bowls Club. Free barbecue, kids’ jumping castle, heaps of prizes including for best dressed Aussie outfit, listen to the Triple J hottest 100 countdown. Courtesy bus will be available for pick up and drop off. COOL off on a 5m water slide at the Mungungo Pub Australia Day Fun Day. Slide will open for kids at midday (with supervision), then becomes available to everyone at 2pm. While you’re there, enjoy an Aussie barbecue, take part in thong-throwing and pie eating contests and perhaps a game of backyard cricket. Plenty of fun activities for kids, including a bring your own Aussie pet competition (be creative - no cats or dogs) and outdoor games. The pub opens at 10am for early attendees with the festivities to go until 11pm. COALSTON LAKES MARKETS
