HOY AND TOMBOLA THE Angli­can Ladies’ Guild at Biggen­den will stage its pop­u­lar hoy and tombola event on Aus­tralia Day. After at­tend­ing the town’s Aus­tralia Day cer­e­mony at the Me­mo­rial Hall head along to the QCWA Rooms from 10.30am. COOL off on a 5m wa­ter slide at the Mun­gungo Pub Aus­tralia Day Fun Day. Slide will open for kids at mid­day (with su­per­vi­sion), then be­comes avail­able to ev­ery­one at 2pm. While you’re there, en­joy an Aussie bar­be­cue, take part in thong-throw­ing and pie eat­ing con­tests and per­haps a game of back­yard cricket. Plenty of fun ac­tiv­i­ties for kids, in­clud­ing a bring your own Aussie pet com­pe­ti­tion (be creative - no cats or dogs) and out­door games.
