Life is a Carnival for musicians

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

GAYNDAH songwriters Rachel Koster and Blake Gannon have combined to release a two-track EP called Carnival.

The pair worked together on a community project a few years ago and that inspired them to co-write music, resulting in the CD title track.

Rachel said the song took just a couple of hours to write and was completed in one sitting.

“Our styles are pretty different but I was really amazed how organically the song unfolded as we worked on it,” she said.

“It was great collaborating with a naturally gifted guitarist and vocalist such as Blake.

“He has a really unique delivery and phrasing which was a fun challenge to harmonise with.”

Rachel, who is teaching art, mindset and resilience in the region, also co-wrote the second song on the EP, I Got You.

The EP launch in December was part of a busy month for Blake who recently completed university and launched a photography website.

The EP is a limited pressing and is currently available for $8 at Gayndah Bakery, A Little Different Cafe, Gayndah Post Office, Eidsvold on the Corner and Biggenden Newsagency.

They are also available online at rachelkoster.com.
