THE Tour Down Un­der has just com­pleted in South Aus­tralia. These cy­clists push them­selves in 30-de­gree tem­per­a­tures through beau­ti­ful grape-grow­ing re­gions such as McLaren Vale where Shin­gle­back Wines is lo­cated, the prod­uct of John and Kym Davey, two broth­ers who ex­tended the es­tate from the land first farmed by their grand­fa­ther in the 1950s.

A small amount of McLaren Vale chardon­nay fruit also. Big flavours with plenty of peaches and white nec­tarine, bar­ley wa­ter and cream­ing soda like vanilla.

En­tic­ing smells of Turk­ish de­light and dark rasp­berry. Red fruits and spice mix to cre­ate a smooth but not sim­ple wine that is in­her­ently drink­able.

Gold medal win­ner from mul­ti­ple international shows. Im­pen­e­tra­ble opaque pur­ple colour and op­u­lent aro­mas of cab­bage rose, dark choco­late, pep­per­corns, cof­fee grounds and cedary oak. Flavours of plush black­berry and rasp­berry fruit wrapped in qual­ity oak.
