Italy comes to Mundubbera
LOVERS will get a new opportunity to stimulate their senses in the new Italian-themed room at Mundubbera’s Three Rivers Tourist Park.
Owner Sherrie Breitkopf said the room was conceived with the help of an Italian staff member.
“It’s an authentic Italian experience crafted by Italians,” Mrs Breitkopf said.
“(Our staff member’s mum) sent some really beautiful things from Italy for the room.
“It makes it more personal, more homely, because it’s come from a family heritage.
The themed room is a first for the North Burnett.
“There hasn’t been anything like this in our region, well not that I know of,” Mrs Breitkopf said.
“I’ve been here five years and have never heard of anyone doing themed rooms. “It is a little bit unique.” Mrs Breitkopf said the project had been in the pipeline for about 18 months.
“Getting our free wifi up and running was our priority, so the theme room had to wait until that was up and running,” she said.
“Being able to share something different with people, instead of it being same old, same old room, it’s something unique.”
While visitors can book the room all year round, the park is hosting a special Valentines Day deal.
“It’s our La Grandiosa package, it’s got Italian wine and an antipasto plate on arrival,” Mrs Breitkopf said.
“It comes with authentic Italian pasta, from Campania, that you can cook with your lover
“We’ve got some Italian chocolates, there will be a love story movie in the room, some traditional Italian coffee, from Piemonte, and an Italian coffee maker, “It’s all come from Italy.” “Bike riding is included as well, so they can have a romantic bike ride on the river and we will deliver breakfast to the room.”
Mrs Breitkopf said the point of the room was Il dolce far niente, the art of doing nothing”.
“Just sitting back and relax and enjoy doing nothing,” she said.
