GOLF: A WEEK of extreme heat wasn’t enough to keep eager Gayndah golfers away from the weekly social and club games with 76 players competing across three rounds.
Jan Bourke found early form and beat out 14 other players during the Tuesday vets game to win the round with a total net score of 27.
Bourke beat out runner-up Rod Ulcoq by a single point, Ulcoq finished with a net score of 27.5
Bev Emmerton got into the winners’ circle with the best pin shot from hole 14.
The Thursday vets proves popular every week with 27 more players turning out for the round.
Peter Ulcoq was able to secure the win after a countback, the countback determined Ulcoq as the winner and Lindsay Baker as runner-up, both on scores of 30 points.
The two-ball ambrose was won by the team of Steve Jameson and Matt Zillman with a net total of 54 1/2 just edging out their opponents.
