GOLF: A WEEK of ex­treme heat wasn’t enough to keep ea­ger Gayn­dah golfers away from the weekly so­cial and club games with 76 play­ers com­pet­ing across three rounds.

Jan Bourke found early form and beat out 14 other play­ers dur­ing the Tues­day vets game to win the round with a to­tal net score of 27.

Bourke beat out run­ner-up Rod Ul­coq by a sin­gle point, Ul­coq fin­ished with a net score of 27.5

Bev Em­mer­ton got into the win­ners’ cir­cle with the best pin shot from hole 14.

The Thurs­day vets proves pop­u­lar ev­ery week with 27 more play­ers turn­ing out for the round.

Peter Ul­coq was able to se­cure the win af­ter a count­back, the count­back de­ter­mined Ul­coq as the win­ner and Lind­say Baker as run­ner-up, both on scores of 30 points.

The two-ball am­brose was won by the team of Steve Jame­son and Matt Zill­man with a net to­tal of 54 1/2 just edg­ing out their op­po­nents.
