SEVEN Little Athletics athletes attended the Central Coast Regional Athletics Carnival during the first weekend of February and came away with some success.

Athletes came from all over including Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Monto, Bundaberg and Gayndah to compete against each other in the regional competition.

Competitors who finished in the first four in their event are now eligible to attend the State Athletics at Brisbane in March.

Five Gayndah athletes qualified for multiple events after being awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in a wide range of events and Gayndah Little Athletics Recorders and Official Leah Trott was proud to see it.

“It was very pleasing to see our small club was competitive against the bigger centres and all the athletes showed great sportsmanship,” Trott said.

“Many of the boys and girls achieved personal bests in their events, the carnival is an opportunity for our athletes to put their skills and training to the test.”

Michelle Geary and Dael Giddins both volunteered their time to support the athletes.
