Young women needed for town’s Miss Show­girl

OR­GAN­IS­ERS are hop­ing for a late show of in­ter­est in the Biggen­den Miss Show­girl, ju­nior show am­bas­sador and ru­ral am­bas­sador com­pe­ti­tions.

At this stage only Vanessa McIn­tyre has stepped for­ward as a Miss Show­girl en­trant.

Co-or­di­na­tor Ta­mara Thode said judg­ing was due to­hap­pen at a high tea on Satur­day af­ter­noon, April 22, at the show hall.

Miss Show­girl en­trants must be aged 18-28 years and ju­nior show am­bas­sador is open to girls or guys aged 15-19 years. The ru­ral am­bas­sador is open to men and women be­tween 20-30 years with a pas­sion for the ru­ral in­dus­try.

At the Biggen­den Show on May 20-21, the fourth Mark El­liott Me­mo­rial Stock­man’s Chal­lenge to be held in the main ring will re­vert to the orig­i­nal for­mat of pat­tern and time trial which pa­trons found so en­ter­tain­ing. The theme of the poetry this year is “four legged friend” and the Lego theme is “my farm”. The dog show will be on the Satur­day in­stead of the usual Sun­day.

In the pav­il­ion, the pop­u­lar dec­o­rated item this year will be an ice cream con­tainer up to four litre size, dec­o­rated and filled with any ar­ti­cles to suit the dec­o­ra­tion.
