Wood­chop tim­ber up for grabs

EVER won­dered what hap­pens to all the tonnes of wood used in the fa­mous wood­chop com­pe­ti­tion at the Syd­ney Royal Easter Show?

Well, it is sold – and you can buy it.

In fact, the Royal Agri­cul­tural So­ci­ety of NSW is keen to be­gin clear­ing it now as the wood­chop com­pe­ti­tion tim­ber is al­ready pil­ing up.

The tim­ber is be­ing sold at $650 for a 20 cu­bic me­tre bin (that’s a lot of wood), which in­cludes free de­liv­ery within a 55-kilo­me­tre ra­dius of Syd­ney Olympic Park. Out­side of the 55 kilo­me­tres there is a de­liv­ery charge.

This wood is green and may have nails from this year’s com­pe­ti­tion, but left sit for a year it will make per­fect fire wood for your 2018 fire or busi­ness.

The wood size varies from kin­dling to pieces up to 30cm in length.

De­liv­ery of tim­ber will take place un­til Tues­day, April 18, usu­ally prior to 8am.
