“When Rainforest Reserves Australia took over the management responsibility for the Queensland Government’s Garners Beach Cassowary Rehabilitation Centre in March 2016 it marked an exciting new chapter for cassowary care in Tropical North Queensland,” Ms Fentiman said.

Member for Barron River Craig Crawford said the facility would increase the number of recovered cassowaries that could be re-released into the wild.
