FOOTY SEA­SON TO KICK OFF SATUR­DAY, APRIL 22

CEN­TRAL Burnett Rugby League sea­son gets un­der way at 4pm at the Biggen­den Sports Re­serve. Last year’s pre­miers Mun­dub­bera Tigers will take on the Biggen­den War­riors who are play­ing in the com­pe­ti­tion for the first time. Af­ter play­ing in the North­ern Dis­tricts com­pe­ti­tion, the War­riors are re­turn­ing to the footy field af­ter an ab­sence of nine years. Bar and can­teen op­er­at­ing. Gates open 2.30pm. Ad­mis­sion $5, chil­dren un­der 12 free. SHOW­GIRL JUDG­ING SATUR­DAY, APRIL 22

Biggen­den Show So­ci­ety will take place this week­end with a high tea for the judg­ing of the Miss Show­girl, Ju­nior Show Ambassador and Ru­ral Ambassador has been can­celled due to the lack of in­ter­est.

MOUNT PERRY SHOW SATUR­DAY, APRIL 22 AND SUNDAY, APRIL 23

Mount Perry Show is this week­end and will show­case some of the best el­e­ments of coun­try liv­ing and the rus­tic charm of Mount Perry it­self. It will pro­vide en­ter­tain­ment for the en­tire fam­ily, in­volv­ing fire­works that will start at 8pm fol­lowed by live en­ter­tain­ment from Wal Neilsen.

WONDERLAND AF­TER DARK SATUR­DAY, APRIL 22

The Mun­dub­bera Show So­ci­ety will host a Wonderland Af­ter Dark event to present the 2017 Miss Show­girl. Live mu­sic and danc­ing. Takes place at the Mun­dub­bera Show­grounds from 6.30pm. Tick­ets are $40. CROWNING OF 2017 MONTO MISS SHOW­GIRL SUNDAY, APRIL 23

Fea­tur­ing the pre­sen­ta­tion of the 2017 Monto Miss Show­girl and Ru­ral Ambassador. Lucky door prizes, best head wear on the day. Tick­ets avail­able for pur­chase from Stitch and Stash. It will in­volve a won­der­ful af­ter­noon of in­dul­gence with de­li­cious cakes and sand­wiches.
