FOOTY SEASON TO KICK OFF SATURDAY, APRIL 22
CENTRAL Burnett Rugby League season gets under way at 4pm at the Biggenden Sports Reserve. Last year’s premiers Mundubbera Tigers will take on the Biggenden Warriors who are playing in the competition for the first time. After playing in the Northern Districts competition, the Warriors are returning to the footy field after an absence of nine years. Bar and canteen operating. Gates open 2.30pm. Admission $5, children under 12 free. SHOWGIRL JUDGING SATURDAY, APRIL 22
Biggenden Show Society will take place this weekend with a high tea for the judging of the Miss Showgirl, Junior Show Ambassador and Rural Ambassador has been cancelled due to the lack of interest.
MOUNT PERRY SHOW SATURDAY, APRIL 22 AND SUNDAY, APRIL 23
Mount Perry Show is this weekend and will showcase some of the best elements of country living and the rustic charm of Mount Perry itself. It will provide entertainment for the entire family, involving fireworks that will start at 8pm followed by live entertainment from Wal Neilsen.
WONDERLAND AFTER DARK SATURDAY, APRIL 22
The Mundubbera Show Society will host a Wonderland After Dark event to present the 2017 Miss Showgirl. Live music and dancing. Takes place at the Mundubbera Showgrounds from 6.30pm. Tickets are $40. CROWNING OF 2017 MONTO MISS SHOWGIRL SUNDAY, APRIL 23
Featuring the presentation of the 2017 Monto Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador. Lucky door prizes, best head wear on the day. Tickets available for purchase from Stitch and Stash. It will involve a wonderful afternoon of indulgence with delicious cakes and sandwiches.
